As part of Oasis’ work to support and develop the integration and inclusion of asylum seekers and refugees into their new local community we have teamed up with The Prince’s Trust work who with 13 to 30-year-olds who have struggled at school, have been in care,
are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law. Its Fairbridge Programme offers an individually tailored personal development programme combining one-to-one support and group activities.

Recently six young men from Oasis completed an access course offering a taster over five days of the range of courses on offer in the Fairbridge programme. The week included problem-solving and team-building challenges such as balancing a dozen six-inch nails on
a single other nails, walking through a pitch-black railway tunnel and creating a full meal from scratch for all the other participants as well as rock climbing and waterfall walking.

Those who participated in the Fairbridge project were awarded certificates at Oasis Cardiff.
